This Pinot Noir has been reserved from the rest of Byington Estate vineyard due to the distinct individual character and westward facing location of Block 4. The terroir creates fruit that is earthy and robust, adding body and elegance to this Santa Cruz Mountains wine. The 2017 is particularly complex, offering pomegranate, currant, and olive flavors and aromas, as well as budding tertiary flavors of leather. The fuller tannin structure allows this Pinot Noir to pair well with hardier cuisine including duck, and beef stews.
